Hi, I'm Melinda
Working in private practice over the past 8 years I have developed a strong passion for early life & child nutrition. I love being able to support families to feel more confident navigating the early years from preconception through to childhood.
I have a special interest in gut health including irritable bowel syndrome, food intolerances, gastrointestinal food allergies and coeliac disease. I myself have struggled with gut issues since I was a child and whilst my mum recalls taking me to the doctors on several occasions we always left with no answers. It was not until I was at university studying that I finally began getting answers and became aware of my food triggers. I am now on a mission to raise more awareness of digestive issues, especially in children and ensure that all families get the support they need so they can relieve distressing symptoms and help their children thrive & enjoy the life they deserve.
With my experience working in a multidisciplinary early intervention paediatric clinic for children I am also able to assist families with feeding difficulties and disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have completed the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding training program and use their framework within my sessions. It has been extremely rewarding working with these children and seeing them become more comfortable at mealtimes and expanding their food choices.
When working with families I have a gentle approach helping both parents and children to feel comfortable to open up and discuss their concerns. I provide clients with practical, simple and evidence based strategies to optimise either their own or their child’s nutrition and overall health.
In my spare time I enjoy baking, going for a run, relaxing with a book and playing with my two young nieces.
